The presenter for this informative session is Margaret (Maggie) Foley, PhD, RHIA, CCS, AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Approved Trainer. Dr. Foley received her B.S. in Health Information Management in 1984, an MBA in Health Administration in 1994 and a PhD in Public Health in 2005 all from Temple University. Her current full-time position is as an Associate Professor in the HIM Division at Temple University. Maggie has over 30 years experience in various aspects of health information management and education. She has held the position of Director of HIM for a large acute care teaching hospital and a psychiatric facility. Maggie has also had experience as a consultant for inpatient reimbursement and coding strategies. Dr. Foley has also held various leadership positions in health information professional organizations at the national, state and local levels.

During this webinar, you will learn about electronic health information exchange (eHIE), status of eHIE efforts in PA, and benefits of eHIE. The presentation goes into greater details about health information organization (HIO) in Pennsylvania, role of the PA eHealth Authority, the PA health information organization strategic plan, current capabilities pertaining to information exchange, partnership and grant information for eligible hospitals, as well as opportunities for collaboration with the PA eHealth Authority.
