This job is responsible for the planning, directing and evaluating the operations and activities of the Health Information Management (HIM) services to assure that medical records (and associated documentation) for all of Trinity Health System & Trinity Medical Group Enterprise (MGE) clinics and service lines are maintained in accordance with Trinity Health System standards and applicable regulatory requirements. An incumbent is also the designated Trinity Health System Privacy Officer, with accountability for the oversight of all ongoing activities associated with the privacy of, and access to, patient health information, including compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Work also includes responsibility for physician satisfaction oversight with regard to the timely completion, maintenance and availability of medical records, and for directing processes to assure that information required to produce bills for clinics and service lines is provided to facilitate timely reimbursement.
An incumbent ensures the quality of HIM systems and processes to provide for maximum reimbursement and to ensure the provision of timely and effective customer service. Work also includes vendor contract compliance.
