Special Student Session Planned for PHIMA Annual Conference

Student-Focused Educational Session – “New Beginnings…Endless Opportunities”

PHIMA is excited to present an educational session at the 85th Annual Conference that will be student-focused.  Emmy Johnson, RHIA, CRCR, VP of Client Relations at GeBBs Healthcare Solutions will be presenting “New Beginnings…Endless Opportunities” for our student attendees.

This presentation will focus on HIM career progressions and opportunities available to current students as they complete their educational path along with stories, tips/tricks and networking strategies to prepare each person for their next step.

Emmy is the VP of Client Relations at Gebbs Healthcare Solutions with over two decades of experience in HIM, coding and revenue cycle operations. In previous roles she has been a critical leader for the establishment of goals/strategy, growth outcomes, and new service line development in addition to M&A and client engagement/satisfaction. She has spent the last two decades of her career in the healthcare industry where she has been instrumental in the growth and success of top-tier hospital HIM and Coding operations in addition to consulting firms working with multiple hospital organizations on increasing overall revenue strategies and outcomes. In 2018, she was named as one of the Top 50 RCM Female Leaders to Know by Becker’s Hospital Review. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Information & Informatics Management from the College of St. Scholastica in 2007 and an active member of AHIMA and HFMA.

This special session will be offered at 2:30 pm on Monday, April 24th during the PHIMA Annual Conference.  In addition, a Student Forum will be held to network and discuss topics that are of interest to our students.  We hope you can join us in Gettysburg!
